Governors are crucial to the effective running of the Plymouth Studio School. The different perspectives they can bring are invaluable to the Principal, students and staff. They will work closely with the Principal and the leadership team to set the strategic direction and development of the School and play an active and enthusiastic part in promoting the School and in ensuring its long-term success.
The Governors’ roles at the Plymouth Studio School are to:
- provide a strategic view, and help to set and maintain the broad framework within which the Principal and the staff should run the School
- act as a critical friend and provide the Principal of the School with support and offer advice and information but also to provide some challenge
- report to the Governing Body on the School’s performance, and, in turn, the Governing Body is accountable to all stakeholders on the School’s overall performance.
