New Teachers Join School

Plymouth Studio School is welcoming five new teachers to its team, ready for our new intake of students this September.

Teachers specialising in Maths, PE, Business Studies, Science, English, Humanities and Psychology will join  us to deliver an exciting way of learning, which allows students to set their personal goals and achieve their full potential.

The new team includes:

Duncan Helford, Lead Teacher, Maths; Duncan is passionate about teaching Maths and is a former squash professional and cricket coach.

Dan Gill, Lead Teacher, Business Studies/PE ; As well as Business Studies, Dan has taught  scholarship courses for Plymouth Albion and Plymouth Raiders and managed the U14/15s for Plymouth Schools FA. He is believes in ‘Learning beyond the classroom’.

Ben Cooper,  Lead Teacher, English: Ben believes that English and literacy skills should be integrated into every subject and learning should be fun. He is also a trained PE teacher and enjoys Badminton, Rugby, Basketball and Street Surfing.

Patricia Donahue, Lead Teacher Science: Patricia has over twelve years’ experience of teaching Science at every level and is relocating from Kent to join us.

Alison Kelly, Lead Teacher, PE/Humanities: Alison joins us from Somerset .She is a swimmer and tri-athlete and is competing in her second half Iron Man this year. She’s looking forward to working with students on a one-to-one basis.

Steve Mooney will take on responsibility for Key Stage 4 & Curriculum  and Emma Herod will take on the role of Deputy Principal, Director of Teaching & Learning and Head of Sixth Form.
