Raiders Academy v Guernsey Grammar School

On Monday 27th our Basketball Academy played a home game against Guernsey Grammar School. Our students were unknowing about the standard of the team but as usual prepared well for the match. The first quarter was slow to start as both teams failed to convert the first few baskets. By the end of the first period, the Academy held a 7 point lead with the help of Harry Rafton’s 3 point basket. Similarly, the second quarter was slow to start, but mistakes from Guernsey saw the likes of Harry Burrows and Owen Knoetz basket quick points to extend the lead. By the last quarter, the Academy players were clearly the fitter of the two teams, providing strong defence and tactics to maintain a 20 point lead. Players of both teams are commended on their effort and sportsmanship throughout the game, and we look forward to the opportunity to play Guernsey Grammar School again.
