Y12 Student Taylor Selected to Represent GB U17 in Fencing!

Year 12 student Taylor Foxwell-Moss has been selected to represent GB as an individual and team member at the Cadet U17 European Championships in Sochi, Russia in March 2018!

This is due to all of her hard work on the Cadet circuit; within just one month Taylor has been travelling and competing internationally for fencing: 3 December – GB Junior U20, Luxembourg – 9 & 10 December – GB Cadet U17 EF, Grenoble, France – 16 December – GB Junior U20, Burgos, Spain. During GB Junior U20 she faced some big competitors in her poule coming away with V2 and D4. She scored some very good ranking points and was the top cadet finishing 3/9 of the British contingent.

For GB Cadet U17 EF, Grenoble, France, once again Taylor was competing as an individual and a member of the GBR 1 Ladies Team.  In the individual on Saturday Taylor had a fabulous 2 rounds of poules but unfortunately she lost 13 – 15; however, ever the sportsman and teammate, Taylor provided full support to her teammate through the next 2 DEs.

GB Junior U20, Burgos, Spain, the toughest JWC to date (this was stated by the GBR Coach) saw a large entry with most of the top U20 fencers competing.  Taylor’s poule was tough and she fenced exceptionally well but it was not to be and she lost out on a L128 place by 2 points on the indicator. Smiling though, Taylor took it on the chin and the coach congratulated her on her performance particularly in the strong field and the fact that once again Taylor did it on her own without a personal coach.
