Year 12 Science experiments

Ms Weirs’ Year 12 A-Level biologists carried out an investigation to test foods for protein. Using a pestle and mortar to grind up foods such as cheese, biscuits and Swedish meatballs they tested the resultant mixture with biuret solution which changed from blue to lilac with the presence of protein. The next step for investigation is the enzyme activity in germinating mung beans.
